NHIA & HeFRA notices

MojoHealth operates within Ghana's health regulatory framework. Here's what that means for you.

National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA)

MojoHealth is a private health insurance scheme operated in line with the National Health Insurance Act, 2012 (Act 852) and the NHIA's guidelines for private health insurance schemes. Private cover complements the National Health Insurance Scheme — it does not replace it.

Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA)

Care is delivered only at facilities licensed by HeFRA. We verify each provider's HeFRA licence and credentialing before they join the network, and monitor licence validity over time.

Identity — National Identification Authority (NIA)

Enrolment uses the Ghana Card, verified with the NIA. This protects against identity fraud and ensures cover is correctly attached to the right person.

Data protection

We process personal and health data under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), as a controller registered with the Data Protection Commission. See our Privacy Notice.

Consumer protections

  • Clear plan terms — limits, co-pays, exclusions and waiting periods stated up front.
  • A complaints and appeals process with defined service levels.
  • Transparent, auditable claims decisions.
  • Escalation to the NHIA where needed.
